Fall morning in Seattle

What an amazing morning for a run! Crisp and clear fall morning -- not a cloud in the sky. Perfect! So perfect, I almost forgot the pain that I feel while running. Today was one of those days where you completely loose yourself in your thoughts, the kind of day where you can play tricks with your mind. You convince yourself that you can run just one more mile and then walk, magically, once you hit that mark, you keep going.

I realized this morning that today is the end of week 8 of my 12 week training program. Somehow one week of the program disappeared...must have been the weekend in LV.
Only four more weeks until San Fran!

8 miles

Today concluded week 6 of the half marathon training program -- along with the end of week 6 came an 8 mile run. Unfortunately, my Sunday morning running partner KC was out of town, so I was forced to go it alone. I decided to head to our favorite running spot, Alki Beach, as it is a perfect location for longer runs - beautiful scenery and relatively flat!

As luck would have it, today turned out to be a great morning for a run. As I rounded Alki point onto Harbor Ave, I felt the warmth of the sun hit my face and right then the gorgeous Seattle skyline came into view. Oh and then, "September" (Earth, Wind and Fire) came blasting through Mini -- how perfect.

I am still waiting for my longer runs to be more comfortable, but at this point, anything past 6 is still uncomfortable. A friend told me the other day that there isn't much difference between mile 6 and mile 13, I hope he is right!

A new love? iPod Nano

I can't even believe that I am having these thoughts! Curiosity got the best of me, so I went to check out Nano at the Apple store this past weekend -- love at first sight! I can't stop thinking about Nano! I know, I know Mini aka "My Electronic Boyfriend" has proven to be a trusty companion this past year, so why give up on him now? Well, Nano is beautiful and feature filled! On the downside, I hear Nano has an unspectacular battery life; though he is Gorgeous, superslim design with bright, photo-friendly screen! Oh what to do? I guess only time will tell.

Thought Provoking Question...

What are your favorite 3 sounds in the world -- not words, or lyrics...just sounds.

Here are mine...

Love the sound of waves crashing on the beach
Love the sound of someone you love sleeping peacefully next to you
Love the sound my Chocolate Lab Gunner makes when he sees me put on my running shoes

My goal is to excel in whatever I do. I enjoy playing the games which are played by rules. I believe that success is bound-less, relative and can be defined only as it is continuously being achieved.

Red sky morning

While out on my 7 mile run this AM I witnessed the most beautiful sunrise. As the fog lifted over the horizon the skyline was the most amazing red. I thought about it all day today. There are very few moments when I find myself alone with my thoughts in such amazing surroundings.
